Concept and creative process
Title sequence for a series about Nanny Smith, a 71 year old professional nanny, with answers to today's parental problems. A specially bound and gold blocked book was made and opened by hand under a video rostrum camera. The page turns were also achieved by hand to reveal text and rectangular patches of a colour separation overlay colour, which were used in the edit to composite the live action of nanny, baby and children. The shadow cast by the turning page was tracked where necessary and filled in to make the inset live action image appear part of the book. A panning move from the final Nanny image to the adjacent page revealed the printed programme title.
