Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a series featuring a mixture of sketches and stand-up comedy from Eric Morecambe, Ernie Wise and guests. For the titles, a clear on black Kodalith was made of the lettering plus the dropped shadow and a second clear on black Kodalith of the lettering only. The first was used as a matte to film the rainbow striped panning artwork top-lit during the camera zoom. The clear on black Kodalith of the lettering was used on the second pass, having rewound the exposed negative, to burn in the white titles over the exposed coloured drop shadow during the repeat of the camera zoom.
