Opening titles for a series on the story of popular dancing. Designer Pat Thompson and BBC staff animator Janet Pimlott had fun bringing to life some found images from different historical periods by means of limited cut-out animation in a continuous pan under the rostrum camera. The final pair was specially shot in the photographic studio as the background to the programme title lettering using a motorised stills camera.
