Concept and creative process
Filming the microchip manufacturing process gave authenticity to this title sequence for a series examining the effects of microtechnology on industry and commerce in Britain. Filming included the manufacturing of micro chips on the workshop floor and shots on a computer screen in the office environment, counterpointing the opportunities created by the technology. Travelling mattes were made from circuit board designs and used to create a juxtaposition of changing images.
