Concept and creative process
Titles for Carla Lane's comedy series starring Michael Angelis and Sue Johnston. The sequence was created in a drawn animation of a single rose unfurling into full bloom against a background of a net curtain, moving in a gentle breeze. A wide shot followed depicting the wilting rose shedding its petals on the table where it stood in a tall glass vase, while an animated scene of a van departing on the street outside was visible through the net curtain. The whole story in essence encapsulated in 30 seconds, was composited in a digital edit of the separate layers of the animation.
