Concept and creative process
Animated titles for a comedy drama series based on the book by John Hadfield, starring Michael Maloney as civil servant Jasper Pye, who is sent to report on a long forgotten Ministry research unit at Arcady Hall in Suffolk. Beautifully conceived and designed by Jane Walker the opening sequence was drawn and animated by Brian Larkin at The Animation People, hinting intriguingly at future incidents in the upcoming episodes in a free-flowing style of animation which included animating all of the camera moves. The filming of the artwork under the rostrum camera was therefore a straightforward matter, with a fixed field and camera position.
