Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a stand-up and sketch show by comedians Lenny Henry and Gina Yashere. The concept for the title sequence was a struggle between Lenny Henry and the film sprockets and countdown leader which conspired to encroach on his personal space within the film title sequence. Lenny proactively pushed back, trying to break out of his celluloid prison, which caused the frames containing the title of the show to slip in an uncontrolled manner. Lenny finally managed to stop one frame with his finger, shattering the screen through which the audience has been viewing the scenario. Specially shot live action footage of Lenny in a studio and a carefully choreographed and animated digital edit of the composited elements combined to create this unusual title sequence by Triffic Films.
