Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a science-fiction drama, written by Jed Mercurio. The task of the titles was to create a tangible atmosphere of foreboding, of other worldliness with which to preface the drama. It did so in tandem with the dramatic music in a CGI animation of various semi-abstracted elements, like close-up sections of the word ‘Invasion’, a human eye with a superimposed sweeping radar beam and swarming clusters of menacing globular structures that eventually coagulate to form the word ‘Earth’ in the title.
