Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a sitcom about Martin, who has achieved wealth, but whose financial success had been ruined by the recession, which forced him to move back with his family to the council flat he grew up in. The series starred Ray Winstone and Carol Harrison. The title sequence featured a mock-up magazine, modelled on ‘The Illustrated London News’, which included cast photographs and headlines related to the recession and Martin’s current financial situation. The artwork was shot under a rostrum camera with the page turns created live. The credits were superimposed on a second pass of the shot negative through the camera.
