‘Gardeners’ World’ is a long-running series on BBC Two, first launched in 1968 and still going strong in 2020. It has a practical magazine format with presenters showing viewers how to garden. This title sequence was created in a digital edit suite from a real-time montage of garden activity throughout the seasons. Composited over the background layer was a foreground animation of shapes like light beams which were used to wipe between the background shots and wipe on and off the names of the seasons and ultimately resolve the programme title.
