Concept and creative process
Jonathan Ross's Friday Night chat show won both a BAFTA TV Award and a Royal Television Award in 2004 for Best Entertainment Performance. The title sequence was a 3D computer animation background layer of streaming pink champagne bubbles with a layer of large amorphous pink blobs in the foreground containing distorting images of previous famous guests on the show. The blobs resolved into the title logo over a tracking shot of the studio set, timed to the entry of the host from behind the door to the backstage green room.
