Eye on Research (1961)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for an episode of 'Eye on Research', the first long lasting regular science and technology series on BBC TV, which ran between 1957 and 1962. It was very much a precursor of ‘Tomorrow’s World’ which began in 1965, also presented by Raymond Baxter. The oscilloscope generating patterns was the live background to the title, which mixed to a matching studio caption card of the programme subtitle at the moment it was struck by a high velocity metal dart.
