Doom Castle (1980)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a dramatisation of the Neil Munro novel. Although it was 10 years since Bonnie Prince Charles fled to France in 1746, Jacobite hopes were still alive in Scotland. The title requirement was simple, a dark airbrushed still of Doom Castle with the chosen coloured type superimposed on cell overlays. It was filmed on a rostrum camera with a zoom out and a zoom into the dark area of the still to provide a clean background for the episode title.
