Don't Wait Up (1983)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a sitcom starring Nigel Havers, Tony Britton and Dinah Sheridan. The title sequence created, in a live action desk-top shoot of the family photo album, a brief résumé of the life so far of the leading character, a busy GP who was not only dealing with his own divorce, but also the break-up of his parents’ marriage. The animation of the tearing photo was shot separately on a rostrum camera as single frame animation, with a superimposed white torn edge on a cell overlay.
