CBBC Bye ident (2005)

Concept and creative process

To mark the launch of the CBBC channel in 2002 a new identity had been created by the Lambie-Nairn branding agency to accompany their new branding of CBeebies. It featured green animated blobs which bore a distinctive BBC logo and a purple ‘C’ livery.
In 2005 the CBBC identity was redesigned by Paul Kavanagh and Hugh Glover at Red Bee Media, and became a single, large, three-dimensional green blob character, sporting a BBC logo and a larger ‘C’ letter. The new CGI animated hero zoomed about the screen, accompanied by other flying objects such as arrows and lines.
