Concept and creative process
The titles for a drama series about the staff and patients at Holby City Hospital's emergency department, charting the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives. This was the main title sequence for the new season of ‘Casualty’, BBC Television's longest-running medical drama series. The programme has been on-air since 1986 and is currently (in 2020) on its 34th series. The producer wanted a departure from live action to something that was more motion graphics based. Rheea Arahna created her design solution from found imagery and used strong 2D and 3D graphic shapes, composited in a digital edit suite to create transitions between the clips in a continuously flowing visual narrative.
