The Broker's Man (1997)

Concept and creative process

The title sequence for a drama serial about a former police officer turned investigator of claims and now working for insurance companies. Live action model shoot in a studio filled with smoke to enhance the misty, yet glowing lighting effects. Blocks of polystyrene were placed to give the impression of an urban gritty environment. Pages of white card were flicked through in close-up as if someone was searching for information or data. All of these images were used as a graphic device to reveal the cast and the series title. These set-ups were used to project an image of the lead actor and the type. The very last shot appears to have a door opening up to light bleaching through. This was done simply by using a piece of card in front of a bright light. All shot at Peerless Films.
