Ask Aspel (1979)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a children's series in which Michael Aspel introduced clips from recent BBC television programmes requested by children, and interviewed guests in the studio. The sequence was made by traditional cell animation, drawn on acetate cells and painted on the reverse side. Timings were taken from the music and the cells were all filmed two frames at a time on a rostrum camera to capture the whole sequence in-camera.
