Concept and creative process
Titles for a children's drama for 10-12 year olds. A defocused, blue tinted live action shot of ripples, radiating outwards from the effect of droplets falling onto the surface, becomes a background for a seemingly random animation of individual letters bouncing about. The upper-case and lower-case letters sequentially spell out the title ‘Around Scotland’ and disappear as the undulating 3D shape of the word SCOTLAND mixes in diagonally. The ‘O’ of SCOTLAND becomes the ‘O’ of AROUND as it slides in on the opposite diagonal, thereby echoing the cross of St Andrew, and flames of fire shoot up from its centre, before bleaching out to a white background for the subtitle.
