Concept and creative process
A BBC1 clock in lime green on deep blue was introduced in 1981 to complement the colourways of the fourth version of the Mirrored Globe design. The seconds were marked in lime green at 5 second intervals with strokes of even weight, with the hour and minute hands in white and the white second hand in a slightly lighter weight. A new inline version of the BBC1 logo was introduced centred below the clock in white. It remained in service until 1985.
