Concept and creative process
In 1967 a BBC1 clock in pale blue on mid blue replaced the earlier monochrome version with Roman numerals. It was visually a much more modern design, in pale blue on mid blue with a white BBC2 logo centred beneath in the lower third of the screen. The weight of the rectangular five minute demarcations increased from fine to extra bold around the perimeter of the clockface in a pleasing progression.
