Working part-time at a digital agency whilst he was still studying, Michael was thrown into the world of Advertising and Brand Design headfirst, crafting social media content for blockbuster releases Avengers, Star Wars and Toy Story.
Now he works at prestigious design agency Design Bridge, working with massive global brands such as Cadbury’s and Lipton.
Michael knew from very early on that he wanted to pursue a career in advertising and brand design and completed the pre-foundation course at Ravensbourne, before eventually securing a place on the Advertising and Brand Design course.
Throughout his undergraduate studies Michael had the opportunity to work on live briefs for the likes of WWE and Barclays. Commenting on the experience he gained on the course he said: “You meet and are taught by countless industry professionals and your work is always put in front of them. You learn how to apply strategy to your work and most of all how to break down a creative brief.”
Within just the first year of the course, Michael had his work put in front of some of the world’s leading Branding and Design agencies and had secured an internship with global advertising agency, Havas.
During the course, Michael and two fellow students won a student award in the prestigious D&AD Awards. The award was one of just 29 awards given out worldwide. Commenting on this achievement Michael said: “Our work was constantly challenged by our tutors and through a lot of hard work we managed to win…hearing our names called out at the awards ceremony among some of the best creatives around the world was a moment I’ll never forget”.
Discussing the opportunities available on the course Michael concluded: “Advertising and Brand Design really bridges the gap between industry and education. This merger makes for a truly unique course and experience”.
