From the archive to the atelier - Ravensbourne MBA students with RÆBURN

A guided visit to one of London's most forward-thinking fashion studios gave students a rare, hands-on look at what truly sustainable design looks like in practice.

Earlier this month, MBA Fashion Business & Entrepreneurship students at Ravensbourne University London swapped the lecture hall for something far more inspiring - a guided field trip to the iconic RÆBURN studio, nestled in the heart of Greenwich's Design District.

RÆBURN is no ordinary fashion brand. An award-winning pioneer in sustainable and circular design, the label has built its reputation on rethinking what fashion can, and should be. So for students studying where business meets creativity, it was about as relevant a classroom as you could hope for.

The visit kicked off with a deep dive into the brand's history and mission, brought to life through a series of real-world case studies and collaborations spanning RÆBURN's impressive portfolio. Students got a genuine sense of how a values-led brand builds and sustains its identity over time - from concept right through to collection.

The highlight? A personal tour of RÆBURN's press and garment archives, guided by founder and creative director Christopher Raeburn himself. From remade military fabrics to collaborations with global partners, the archive told the story of a brand that has always put purpose before trend.

It's exactly the kind of experience that brings the curriculum to life - showing students that sustainability in fashion isn't just a talking point, it's a genuine business model. We're hugely grateful to Christopher and the whole RÆBURN team for opening their doors and sharing their world with us.
