Zara Wood, a senior lecturer on Ravensbourne's BA (Hons) Illustration for Communication course, has launched a podcast, titled ‘Rave About Illustration’.

The podcast series is a UK publicly funded Knowledge Exchange project, commissioned by Ravensbourne. It aims to shed light on what everyday working life is like for an illustrator, and is perfect for anyone wanting to find out more about the topic.

It explores how illustration is a visual language - primarily used to translate stories from other sectors. This means illustration as a field can fall under the radar. Many people associate illustration with children's pictures books, but it includes much more than this.

The first episode introduces the topic, providing insight into how illustrators work behind the scenes day-to-day.

The second episode features recent Ravensbourne graduate, Akemi Kawano, while the third episode is slightly longer and features a conversation with the world-renowned illustrator Malika Favre.

Tune in to all three episodes, available now on Acast.
