Caroline Orme MSc

Biography

Caroline Orme is Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Editing and Post-Production.

She is an experienced editor, director, and post-production specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the film and media industry. Her work has been screened at 33 film festivals in the UK and around the world. She has also worked in broadcasting, including a role as an Audio Commentary Systems Operator during the 2012 London Olympics.

Caroline's technical expertise spans editing, colour grading, online workflows (to DPP HD specification), and asset management using Avid Nexis. She is an Avid Certified Instructor and her background includes advanced post-production expertise in 3D stereoscopic editing and VR. Recently, Caroline completed a VR prototype titled Doorway to the Subconscious: An Exploration of Health, Well-Being, Mind, Body and Spirit through VR.

Her academic research includes the journal article Do 3DS and VR Share the Same Visual Grammar?, which was published by IBC following her MSc in 3D Stereoscopic Media.

As an educator, Caroline has led live collaborative projects with organisations including the Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum, Queens House, PwC, Sharpshooters, UNESCO, and the Tag Rugby Trust. Several of these projects have resulted in public exhibitions and screenings on the BBC Rugby Union website and Sky.

Caroline originally trained as a fine artist at Chelsea College, and her creative interests span editing, directing, painting, music, and dance. She brings a rich blend of artistic insight and technical expertise to both her professional practice and her teaching.
