Closing Equity Gaps through the use of AI-Assisted Tools for Learning
Overview
This project looked at whether an AI-assisted learning tool like Studiosity could support students in developing academic skills to enhance their learning and reduce performance gaps.
Project details
In partnership with Studiosity, this project is focused on:
- Supporting target students to actively engage with Studiosity+
- Evaluating the tool’s impact on under-represented groups
- Exploring how Studiosity+ helps in closing performance gaps among these groups
Studiosity+ is an AI-assisted learning tool that provides students with formative feedback on their written work within minutes. It is designed to help students develop their critical thinking skills while offering enhanced reporting for academic staff to better support students with individual needs. The evidence base for Studiosity is growing, demonstrating its positive impact in bridging the skills gap for non-traditional learners and in supporting students identified as most ‘at risk’ of not succeeding at university.
