Welcome information

During Welcome Week we’ll be getting to know each other. We’d love you to introduce yourselves with your own digital content.  

“This is Me” 

• Create a short video (under a minute) to introduce yourself to your classmates.  Your first name must be included somewhere in the video. 

• This isn't marked, so don't aim for perfection with your filming and editing.  A video edited on your phone using Reels/TikTok is fine. Portrait or landscape is fine. 

• Only share things you'd be happy for your Course Tutors/classmates to see. This video will only be viewed within your class and not shared wider than this. 

• It's up to you to choose the style and format. You can talk throughout or, you don't have to speak at all - it can just be a montage with music. 

• Suggestions for things to include: where you're from, hobbies, favourite foods, people or places, a montage of pics from your camera roll, interests, pets etc.  

• Make it as creative/silly as you like! 

Please send your video to Gurinder Hatchard: [email protected] by 7.00pm, Sunday 17 September or bring it with you to Welcome Week. You might find it best to use a Wetransfer or GoogleDrive/OneDrive link. 

Course equipment 

You will need a smartphone with storage for photos/videos. 

Laptop requirements 

Please see our laptop requirements document to ensure you have a device that will be suitable for your studies. If you are unsure if your current device meets the requirements please speak to your course team during Welcome Week. 

Your course welcome week activities will be taking place on the following dates. This is a really important time for you to meet fellow students, your course team and become part of the Ravensbourne community. These sessions will cover key information about your course and everything you need to set you up for your studies.  

Monday 18 September: 9.00am – 4.30pm, room 607

Wednesday 20 September: 9.00am – 4.30pm, room 607

Students’ Union Welcome Festival 

Your Students' Union team is currently working on putting together a fantastic Welcome Festival, full details of all events will be released by Monday 11 September. To keep track of all SU events and to buy tickets visit: rave.native.fm

International Welcome Week runs from Tuesday 12 September - Friday 15 September. If you’re an international student, it is important that you attend in this week to complete your enrolment, get all the information you need to best prepare your for studying in the UK and meet fellow international students on your course.

Your teaching starts in the week commencing Monday 25 September. In semester one you will have three teaching sessions each week as follows: 

Monday, 9.00am - 1.00pm, room 607

Monday, 2.00pm - 6.00pm, room 607

Thursday, 9.00am - 1.00pm, room 607

Occasionally your timetable might get updated due to a room or other change.

Please ensure you regularly check your timetable in case there are any changes. You can find out how to check your timetable here  

If you have any questions ahead of joining us, our online drop-in sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, 1.00pm - 2.00pm UK Time, starting Friday 11 August through to Friday 30 September 2023.
