Teenage Diaries (1992)

Concept and creative process

For the titles of 'Teenage Diaries' a title sequence was required to reflect the immediacy of films made by teenagers using professional cameras. I gave it a more youthful appearance than the original 'Video Diaries' with bright colours and I incorporated video elements such as roll bars to add pace. I viewed a lot of footage from the rushes shot by the contributors and selected the best moments. A live action shoot of the camera was used for a top layer of action over the chosen footage. Composited on Quantel Henry at Framestore by Mike McGee.
