Concept and creative process
This ident was created in the era of the BBC2 'Personality' idents (2001-2007). It was entirely 3D computer-generated animation set in a yellow environment with the BBC TWO channel ident reversed out white in a purple box on the lower right of the screen. Within a short space of time all of the BBC channels were branded in their own colours in a style compatible with this. In this ident, designed by Richard Acton, the hapless ‘2’ is trapped inside an ice cube and skates about on the yellow surface.
