How to prepare for Clearing

Clearing is a great opportunity to start university if you don’t yet have an offer, would like to change to another course, or your grades aren’t what you expected.

  1. Check if you’re eligible
If you have no offers by 30 June, no longer wish to accept an offer, or haven’t met your offer conditions, you should be eligible for Clearing. Check in your UCAS Hub for the ‘Add Clearing choice’ option. If you haven’t made a UCAS application by 30 June, you will need to set up an account in the UCAS Hub.
  2. Research courses
Be prepared and research the different courses available on our Undergraduate Courses area. All courses available in Clearing are clearly marked on the individual course page.
  3. Gather everything you need
Once you’ve found a course you’re interested in, gather your qualifications and grades (A-level, BTEC, and GCSE Maths and English) as well as your UCAS ID – you’ll need these when you make our application. Use the UCAS tariff calculator to work out your achieved tariff points.
  4. Apply
You can apply online via our course pages - visit our Undergraduate courses page to see available courses.
  5. Receive offer
We may be able to offer you a place immediately or our Admissions Team may need longer to review your application. Whichever way you apply, we’ll confirm your offer by email, outlining the next steps to accept your place. Be sure to add [email protected] to your contact list to avoid important updates ending up in your junk!
  6. Accept offer
To accept your offer, select Ravensbourne as your ‘Clearing choice’ in your UCAS Hub by the deadline in your offer email. Once this shows on your ‘Choices’ pages, you’re on your way to becoming a Ravensbourne student! We’ll verify your results and keep in touch over email to guide you through enrolment and next steps.
