Thida Hawkins BA, PGCLTHE, FHEA

Thida Hawkins is a fashion industry professional with over a decade of experience spanning luxury and commercial markets, who has built a career defined by multidisciplinary collaboration, creative rigour and a commitment to sustainable and ethical practice.

Thida's fashion expertise focusses on womenswear with knowledge of childrenswear, menswear, unisex and accessories. Over the course of her career she has worked across every stage of the product lifecycle; from concept and product development through to manufacturing and global supply chain management — working with factories across the UK, Europe, Asia and beyond.

Through licensing and brand management, she has developed a broad portfolio of collaborations across wider creative industries, including Celia Birtwell x Uniqlo, Eley Kishimoto x Werk Magazine (D&AD Award-Winning), Eley Kishimoto x Sophie Calle at the Venice Biennale & Whitechapel Art Gallery, Katherine Hamnett x Selfridges and London Festival Architecture at Somerset House to name but a few. She has also served as a guest judge at the Humen Cup International Design Awards in China.

She has led prestigious student projects with the Zaha Hadid Foundation, the Zandra Rhodes Foundation, Harris Tweed Hebrides, the British Fashion Council, the National Football Museum and others.

Her academic career has involved Fashion Technology course leadership at Manchester Metropolitan University's Manchester Fashion Institute including International partnerships with RMIT in Melbourne, the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and Pearl Academy Mumbai.

She has additional teaching, lecturing and External Examiner experience at institutions including London College Fashion UAL, Northumbria University, University West London, Winchester School Art (University Southampton), Deutsche POP (Germany) and United POP (Netherlands).

Thida currently holds a position as Course Leader on our BA Fashion course, where she brings industry depth and international perspective to her teaching across fashion, design and textiles.
