
Paula Williams BA (Hons), FHEA, PGCert
Biography
Paula is an award-winning creative director with over 25 years industry experience, working as part of the BBC Creative team, Agency RedBee Creative branding team, and currently as co-founder of Wonder Creative. She is also Ravensbourne's Course Leader for Advertising and Brand Design.
She has extensive industry practice in areas including brand strategy, branding, identity design, motion design, promotional campaign development, titles, promotional packages and brand implementation.
She has created engaging and effective multi-platform identities with media brands, including the BBC, ITV, Discovery, Canal Plus, Univision and Renault – working with clients across the UK and international markets.
Her work has been awarded and internationally recognised by D&AD, BAFTA, The Royal Television Society, Design Week, The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts and Sciences (GEMA), New York Festivals, Marketing Effectiveness and Laus Awards.
She is a founder member of the BBC Motion Graphics steering group, which have created a permanent archive at Ravensbourne. The archive represents a significant cultural and academic resource in design, media and broadcast, providing a unique collection of motion graphic design history and development across the BBC, for educational and research purposes.

Paula is an anthology editor of Designing the BBC: A History of Motion Graphics, published by Bloomsbury Academic. The book draws on the unique content of the BBC Motion Graphics Archive of more than 60 years of the BBC's innovative practice and groundbreaking work within motion graphics, and the first-hand perspectives of former BBC staff. It serves as a richly illustrated chronicle of visual culture within British public service broadcasting and as a case study of the power of design to shape institutional identity and public imagination.
Paula is also a regular judge as part of The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts and Sciences (GEMA) Europe and the Global Excellence Awards.
