Katherine Skellon BA
Biography
Katherine Skellon is an interpretative designer with over 30 years of experience creating museums, exhibitions and visitor attractions in the UK and internationally.
Having worked for a number of leading exhibition design companies, Katherine established Skellon Studio in 2014 designing permanent exhibitions within museums, galleries, visitor centres and heritage attractions as well as temporary exhibitions. Combining creativity with a solid understanding of the practicalities of getting projects completed, Katherine is one of the most established figures in the UK museum design sector.
Alongside her practice, Katherine has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level and lectures regularly. Prior to Ravensbourne, Katherine taught at the Royal College of Art, Kingston University, Nottingham University, RISDI (Providence, US) and co-founded the MA Narrative Environments course at Central St Martins.
Trained in interior design and taught by architects, Katherine has developed a sensitivity to working within existing buildings and is interested in the crossover between exhibition design and architecture.
