Jon Kingsbury BA, DIC, EMBA, FLS

Jon Kingsbury is the Vice Chancellor of Ravensbourne University London. Having joined in June 2025, Jon brings a forward-thinking vision rooted in innovation, collaboration, and real-world impact. 

Prior to joining Ravensbourne, Jon was CEO of Innovate UK Business Connect, where he worked for more than a decade and played a key role in strengthening the UK’s innovation ecosystem by connecting businesses, researchers, universities and government to drive growth and productivity. 

Jon has had a career in production and commissioning for broadcasters Channel 4 Television and the BBC, as well as the innovation charity Nesta. He was on the Board of Screen Yorkshire which commissions new games and cinema productions. Jon is a voting member of BAFTA (Games and Film awards) and is a fellow of the Linnean Society of London.  

At Ravensbourne, Jon is leading the university’s bold 2030 strategy, empowering students from all backgrounds to thrive at the intersection of creativity, technology and business. He is passionate about practice-based learning, investment in emerging talent and forging deep industry partnerships. 

Jon believes in the transformative power of education to shape a better future and is focused on ensuring Ravensbourne continues to be a hub where innovation flourishes, new value is created and exciting futures are made real.
