Hwei Fan Liang MA (Cantab), DipArch, ARB

Biography

Hwei Fan has been teaching in architecture and spatial design since 2006, and is a regular guest critic at other universities across the UK.

She studied at the University of Cambridge, the University of East London, and Kingston University, and is a qualified architect. Her practice experience includes public realm, educational, domestic and housing, and she has particular interests in the ongoing care and adaptation of the built environment, architecture and ecology, and material construction.

Hwei Fan leads the direction and delivery of Technology and Professional Practice across the Department of Architecture, with a focus on how design and the built environment impacts on and is impacted by the climate and ecological emergency, and in the ethics and professional agency of the designer.

She has been teaching at Ravensbourne since 2016, across all years of BA (Hons) Architecture, BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architectures and BA (Hons) Urban Landscape Architecture, as well as on the MArch Master of Architecture.
