Fiona Quadri BA, MA, PGCE

Fiona Quadri is a London-based visual artist, illustrator, and creative educator with extensive experience leading workshops, participatory projects, and academic research in creative education.

Alongside her illustrative practice, she is the founder of Zinetopia, a platform delivering tailored community zine-making, collage, and illustration workshops across schools, universities, and community organisations.

Her practice explores cultural memory, community, and everyday experience through a Black queer lens, working across collage, mixed media, textiles, and collected objects. Fiona’s work celebrates lived experience, postcolonial perspectives, and the stories of marginalised communities. She has produced commissioned work for clients including Converse, Paul Smith, Art of London, NHS, Dazed, and London Jazz Festival. Her solo show 'What Belonging Holds' (2025) at Fishtank Gallery reflects her ongoing exploration of displacement, community, race, and queer narratives.

Through Zinetopia, Fiona has also led over 100 workshops and participatory projects in universities, cultural institutions, and grassroots settings, including Tate, V&A, SOAS, UAL, Young Minds, and Lush.

Her current research, conducted with Dr. rémy-paulin twahirwa, investigates 'Zines as a Radical Method for Qualitative Research' (2025), informed by Black feminist literature. This work has been presented through talks and masterclasses at Cambridge University, SOAS, and Sussex University, and is currently being developed into a chapter for an upcoming publication.

As a lecturer at Ravensbourne University, Fiona teaches Fashion Communications and Visual Communications, developing inclusive, research-informed learning experiences that empower students to explore their own creative voice. She combines her professional practice with teaching to encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and the integration of socio-political perspectives into creative work.
