Dr Tahira Mahboob PhD, MSCE, BSCE, RE, MIEEE, MWIE
Biography
Dr Tahira Mahboob is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing and Emerging Technologies at Ravensbourne University, and an Affiliate Researcher at the University of Glasgow.
Her research focuses on developing intelligent in-network cyber-protection solutions for critical networking infrastructures, with particular interests in AI-enabled communication networks, 5G and beyond systems, machine learning, deep learning, programmable networking, and network function virtualisation.
Dr Mahboob is a registered engineer with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE). She previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea, and received her PhD in Computer Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea.
Before joining her current institution, Dr Mahboob held senior academic appointments at the Information Technology University (ITU) and Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Pakistan, where she contributed to teaching, research, and curriculum development. She has an established record of scholarly contributions, including publications in leading SCI(E)- and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, patents, and software registrations. She has also delivered keynote speeches, invited talks, seminars, and conference presentations at national and international venues.
As an educator, Dr Mahboob is committed to student-centred learning and innovation in higher education. She actively contributes to curriculum design and review, integrating modern pedagogical approaches to inspire and develop the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
