Dr Sandra Fernando BSc, MSc, PhD, SFHEA

Dr Sandra Fernando is an Associate Professor and Course Leader in the Department of Computing and Emerging Technologies, with over 20 years’ experience in UK higher education and international partnership delivery.

Her research spans assistive technologies in education, neurodiversity and disability inclusion, and applied data science, including machine learning, AI and big data analytics. She serves on editorial boards for leading assistive technology journals, including ACM and RESNA, and contributes to the organisation of international data science conferences. Her work champions socially responsible computing and inclusive, research informed education.
