Biography
Dr Saima Abdullah is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Ravensbourne University with expertise in emerging technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud and edge computing.
She holds a PhD in Computing and Electronic Systems from the University of Essex, where her research explored energy-efficient and network-aware communication in IoT environments. Her research focuses on designing intelligent, secure, and scalable systems, with applications in areas such as smart healthcare, blockchain-enabled networks, and next-generation digital infrastructure.
She has published extensively in leading international journals and has supervised a wide range of postgraduate and doctoral researchers. She earned her doctorate on a fully funded scholarship awarded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC-Pak). She has extensive experience in collaborating on multiple research projects, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships and contributing to high-impact scholarly and applied outcomes.
Alongside her research, Dr Abdullah is passionate about teaching and curriculum innovation. She brings a strong focus on industry engagement and practical application, preparing students to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital and technological landscape.
