
Dr Noman Sultan PhD, MDes, CISM, CGEIT
Biography
Dr. Noman Sultan is a cybersecurity academic and governance expert with a strong interdisciplinary background that bridges higher education, financial technology, and global industry. His work combines strategic leadership in cybersecurity with digital innovation, AI governance, and ethical design practices.
He holds a PhD in IT Leadership from Middlesex University, a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from University College London (UCL) focused on board-level governance learning, and a Master’s in Design for Social Innovation from Ravensbourne University.
Teaching and Supervision
Dr. Sultan teaches across MSc-level programmes in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Emerging Technologies. He integrates design-led thinking, AI ethics, digital trust, and GRC strategy into project-based learning. He also serves as an External Examiner for postgraduate programmes in AI and Cybersecurity.
Industry Engagement
Alongside his academic role, Dr. Sultan brings senior leadership experience from HSBC, Shell, Barclays, and financial technology organisations. He has led enterprise-level strategies in cybersecurity risk governance, operational resilience, AI regulation, and compliance.
He continues to advise on cyber risk frameworks, digital trust ecosystems, and emerging technology adoption, ensuring cybersecurity is positioned as a strategic enabler within complex business environments.
