Biography
Khadijat Ladoja is a seasoned academic, an exceptional teacher, and a deeply committed mentor.
She lives by the principle of living fully and helping others do the same, a value that consistently shapes her work, her classroom, and her community engagements.
She is the 2024 NITDA TechMentor Nominee of the Year and was recognized as one of the Top 250 Young Researchers at the prestigious 2020 Heidelberg Laureate Forum. Khadijat is the Founder of the University of Ibadan Natural Language Processing Group, where she leads research in African language technologies, and the creator of TechCompass, a mentorship platform dedicated to guiding undergraduate students across tech-related fields.
Her research sits at the intersection of computer vision and natural language processing, with a focus on designing inclusive, equitable, and socially responsible AI systems. She is passionate about advancing technologies that serve diverse communities fairly, reflecting her strong advocacy for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in AI development, education, and institutional practice.
Khadijat’s teaching and mentorship philosophy is anchored in compassion, excellence, and empowerment.
