Dr Bianca Ogbo BSc, MSc, PhD, PgCLTHE, FHEA

Dr Ndidi Bianca Ogbo is the Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Business Computing in the Department of Computing and Emerging Technologies at Ravensbourne University London. She is an interdisciplinary computer science researcher specialising in artificial intelligence, evolutionary game theory, social dilemmas, responsible AI, AI governance and technology adoption.

Bianca holds a BSc in Information Systems and Software Engineering and an MSc in eBusiness, both from Oxford Brookes University, and a PhD in Computer Science from Teesside University. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PgCLTHE) and is a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA). Before joining Ravensbourne, she was a Lecturer in Computer Science at Teesside University. She also has experience in transnational education, working with international academic partnerships and supporting the delivery of computing education across different educational contexts.

Her research explores the interaction between AI, people and society, with particular interests in trust, cooperation, social dilemmas, AI policy and responsible technology adoption. Drawing on evolutionary game theory and interdisciplinary approaches, she investigates how individual and collective behaviour, incentives and institutional mechanisms shape the development, governance and adoption of emerging technologies. Her work connects computing with education, health, business, media and the creative industries.

Bianca’s research on the responsible use of generative AI in higher education received a Best Conference Paper Award. She also supervises doctoral research in areas including large language model bias, AI policy and responsible AI.

Her research extends into externally funded projects addressing the responsible application and societal impact of AI. Bianca is Principal Investigator on an NIHR-funded Seedcorn project exploring trust, safety and responsible AI design in mental health support. She also developed and initially led an AHRC-funded project examining women’s representation and bias in generative AI, alongside interdisciplinary collaborations exploring AI within the creative industries.

Beyond teaching and research, Bianca is committed to mentoring, widening participation and greater inclusion in STEM. She is a mentor with the Health Innovation and Research Alliance Northern Ireland (HIRANI) Mentoring Programme, supporting innovation and professional development within the health and life sciences sector. She has also led initiatives promoting girls’ inclusion in STEM, creating opportunities for schoolgirls to engage with computing, digital technologies and the creative industries and encouraging them to explore future study and career pathways in technology.

Through her leadership of Business Computing at Ravensbourne, Bianca brings together computing, business and responsible innovation. She is committed to equipping students with the technical, critical and professional skills to engage with emerging technologies responsibly, creatively and confidently in an evolving digital world.
