Students celebrate with BAFTA after brilliant production

Broadcast Engineering and Digital Television Production students at Ravensbourne University London recently rounded off a successful production shoot followed by a well-earned reward after showing real growth and determination.

The task was to film a stylish, Casino Royale-inspired take on the programme called Mafia. The first attempt didn’t go to plan - but rather than give up, the students took it on the chin, identified what went wrong, and came back for a second shoot with renewed focus.

The second shoot went brilliantly. A sneak peek at the rushes has already confirmed the footage is fantastic. What stood out wasn’t just the technical work - it was the students’ attention to detail and their drive to get things right.

To celebrate, Richard Murrell - sessional lecturer and BAFTA voting member, took the group along to BAFTA for a glass of champagne. A fitting end to a day that showed just what these students are capable of.

These students are heading into their second year - with two more years still to go. If this is where they’re starting from, the future looks very bright indeed.
