Concept and creative process
These opening titles for ‘Z Cars’, the long-running series featuring the life and work of policemen stationed at Newtown, focused on the locality around the police HQ and the people in the surrounding area who were the responsibility of the mobile patrol units. The logo of the well-established programme hardly got a look-in, tacked on to the end of the live action sequence almost as an afterthought by the editor.
