Wildlife On One (1977)

Concept and creative process

The opening titles for a nature documentary series, narrated by David Attenborough, took the form of an animation of the outline form of various creatures on different textured coloured backgrounds, filmed with a tunnel zoom effect. The animation was continuous but left behind frozen step repeats of the image which then progressively faded. The main title was revealed by an iris wipe. The sequence was filmed on a rostrum camera.
