Concept and creative process
Titles for a history series in which Adam Hart-Davis examines innovations and inventions introduced by the Romans. Some of these are shown in the title sequence: stone walls; palatial houses with mosaic floors; grape cultivation and wine making; exotic fruits; glassware and windows. The title itself is housed within a Roman building and the individual letters rotate by stop frame animation to form the programme title.
