The Story Of The Treasure Seekers (1982)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for ‘The Treasure Seekers’, a drama serial for children, based on the book by E. Nesbit, about the Bastable children's quest to help the family's finances. For the opening sequence designer Eldad Shaw filmed a tabletop set with toys, books and an old album with gilded mounts containing photographs of Edwardian London scenes, the Bastable family home, their six children, and the hand-lettered title and production credits. The album was filmed single frame with in-camera dissolves between the titles and images.
