Concept and creative process
Titles for ‘Squadron’, a drama series about the adventures of the fictional 370 Rapid Deployment Squadron of the Royal Air Force. The title sequence introduced the main actors and their characters as well as the planes and helicopters that would be playing an important role in the series. The animating matte sequence for the split screens was filmed on a rostrum camera together with white credits and the colour programme title caption. The live action production clips were edited to length and the whole sequence was combined using the mattes in a film optical with superimposed titles.
