The Richard Dimbleby Lecture (1978)

Concept and creative process

The titles for an annual lecture by an influential and distinguished speaker, delivered in honour of the veteran journalist and broadcaster Richard Dimbleby, remembered in the opening sequence in a specially commissioned sculpted head. The bust was filmed on a revolve and in post-production became part of the typography, contained within the square dot of the ā€˜iā€™ of Richard, as it zoomed back to reveal the whole programme title.
