Review Of The Year (1996)

Concept and creative process

In response to the same brief every year, the one-off opening titles for the BBC’s annual ‘Review of the Year’ programmes in the 1990s had become an extraordinary showcase for imagination, craft and technology. 1996 was no different and lived up to the high standards already set by its predecessors in a three-dimensional animation which seamlessly and surprisingly took over from the BBC Corporate Ident, and peeled open to reveal an array of navigation equipment on a surface engraved with the months of the year.
